Show Lowest Price mod

Brief Summary

This modification for ProductCart 3.51 & 4 revises the display of the price of a product that has been assigned quantity-based discounts so that the price shown is the lowest available price based on the highest quantity threshold assigned.

By default, ProductCart displays the base price of a product on category, subcategory, search result, best sellers, featured products and new arrivals pages.

This modification changes the display of the price on these pages to show the lowest possible price based on the highest quantity discount threshold. For example if a product costs $1.00 but has quantity discount pricing assigned to it such that at 20 to 9999 units the cost at this threshold is $0.67, that is the price that will be displayed using the language “From $0.67” rather than “Price $1.00”.

The display is not changed on pages set to display in a list format, but could be easily customized to do so if desired.

This modification has not been tested against all variations of ProductCart 3.51 and 4.

System Requirements

Available for ProductCart V3.51 and above. This mod may not work on earlier versions of ProductCart. It is compatible with stores running the Apparel add-on, though product options which may decrease the base price of the product are not accounted for.

This installation is a minor modification to the original source code. It should take ~ 5 minutes to install.

This modification will be overwritten by any version updates from Early Impact. However, we have made it very simple to re-customize in such an event. Web Merchant Services makes every effort to isolate the core code of its add-ons and mods from being overwritten by Early Impact upgrades. We try to keep the time to reinstall to ~ 10 minutes, making it really simple to do again if necessary.
